Het Institute of Assetmanagement (IAM) is een mondiale vereniging van 30.000 professionals op het gebied van onderhoudsmanagement. De vereniging ontwikkelt en deelt kennis en ervaring op het gebied van assetmanagement om personen, organisaties en de samenleving te inspireren en vooruit te helpen.

Eerste Awards in Nederland

IAM Nederland zal voor het eerst twee prestatie-Awards uitreiken voor respectievelijk individuele personen (Assetmanagement Professional) en teams (Assetmanagement Team). Draka is uit twintig kandidaten genomineerd voor de teamprijs, samen met de Royal Schiphol Group en Tennet TSO. De Awards worden tijdens het jaarcongres van IAM Nederland op 26 september uitgereikt.

Een unieke erkenning…

Deze nominatie is een erkenning voor de aanpak de Eindhovense Prysmian locatie. Het bedrijf heeft het huidige machinepark en infrastructuur dusdanig aangepast dat het bedrijf de stijgende marktvraag naar glasvezel nu en in de toekomst blijvend aankan. Dit heeft geleid tot een aanzienlijke verbetering van de bedrijfsresultaten want door deze succesvolle assetmanagement cyclus zijn gestructureerde onderhoudsconcepten gedefinieerd, is de kennis van haar medewerkers gericht verhoogd en is de machinebeschikbaarheid (OEE) significant verbeterd.

Dat dit proces vervolgens leidt tot een nominatie voor de IAM Nederland Awards 2019 ziet Draka dan ook als een groot compliment en als bewijs dat de ingeslagen weg de juiste is.

…voor een doordachte aanpak…

Draka produceert high-end multimode glasvezels. De vraag naar deze producten neemt sterk toe. Om daaraan te kunnen voldoen en haar positie veilig te stellen, heeft het team een Plant Improvement Plan opgesteld (PIP). Deze stuurgroep PIP, bestaande uit Ralph van Lankveld, Roland van Laere, Michel Theunissen, Edwin Smolenaers (Draka) en Dimitri Koenen (IES Asset Management), is nu genomineerd. Het multidisciplinaire team heeft een projectmatige aanpak gekozen. Vervolgens hielpen een SAMP (Strategic Asset Management Plan), een risicomatrix en risico gebaseerde onderhoudsconcepten de benodigde verbeteringen zichtbaar te maken, intern draagvlak te creëren en uiteindelijk te realiseren. Daarnaast is veel aandacht besteed aan de vakbekwaamheid van de medewerkers hetgeen geresulteerd heeft in een accreditatiematrix, interne opleidingen en een multidisciplinaire inzet van de operators.

…met een succesvol resultaat

Op basis van die aanpak is het onderhoudsconcept verbeterd. Operators hebben betere kennis van de processen en zijn daardoor in staat op de juiste wijze te handelen. De verantwoordelijkheden en taken zijn duidelijk afgebakend met als resultaat minder uitval, lagere onderhoudskosten en een betere procesvoering. Het project is financieel én organisatorisch geslaagd. Draka is in high-end volume gegroeid en is in staat de continu veranderende markt efficiënt en effectief te volgen en de operationele voorspelbaarheid sterk te verbeteren. Een prachtige prestatie, die ook zonder Award al zeer prijzenswaardig is.

IAM nominates Prysmian for Asset Management Team Award 2019

Draka Comteq Fibre B.V., part of the Prysmian group, has been nominated for the IAM Nederlands Awards 2019. The Institute of Asset Management (IAM) has specifically nominated Draka’s project team : Plant Improvement Plan (PIP). The company executes a successful policy in the area of Maintenance Management. The IAM Award would be a valuable recognition by peers for the producer from Eindhoven.

The institute of Asset Management (IAM) is a world-wide organization consisting of 30.000 professionals in the field of Asset Management. The organization develops and shares knowledge and experience in the field of Asset Management to inspire and push forward people, organizations and the community.

First Awards in the Netherlands

For the first time IAM Nederland will be awarding two achievement-Awards, one for individual people (Asset Management Professional) and one for teams (Asset Management Team). From a group of twenty candidates, Draka has been nominated for the team price and has to compete against Royal Schiphol group and Tennet TSO for the Award. The winners will be announced on IAM NL’s Annual Conference on the 26^th of September.

A unique recognition

This nomination is a recognition for the approach the Prysmian Group location in Eindhoven has taken. The company has changed the current machinery and infrastructure in such a way that it can consistently handle the growing demand of optical fiber now and in the future. This resulted in an noticeable improvement of the company results. Reason for this is the successful Asset Management cycle has defined structured maintenance concepts, increased the professional knowledge of colleagues and the Overall Equipment Effectiveness has improved significantly. The nomination for the IAM Nederland Awards 2019 is seen as a big compliment and it shows us that we are on the right track.

In Eindhoven we produce high-end multimode optical fiber. The demand of these products is growing strongly. To secure their position and meet demand, the team made a Plant Improvement Plan (PIP). This steering group PIP, consists of Ralph van Lankeveld, Roland van Laere, Michel Theunissen, Edwin Smolenaers (Draka) and Dimitri Koenen (IES Asset Management). The multidisciplinary team has chosen a project-based approach. Subsequently, a SAMP (Strategic Asset Management Plan), a risk matrix and risk-based maintenance concepts helped to show the needed improvements and create internal support. Aside from that, a lot of attention has been placed on the professional competence of employees, which resulted in an accreditation matrix, internal training and a multidisciplinary effort of the operators.

… with a successful result

Based on this approach, the maintenance concept has been improved. Operators have more knowledge of the processes and are therefore able to implement it in their daily activities. The responsibilities and tasks are clearly defined which results in less dropout, lower maintenance costs and a better process execution. The project has been a success, both financially and organizationally. Draka has grown in high-end volume and is capable of following the continually changing market efficiently and effectively as well as strongly improve the operational predictability. An amazing achievement, which makes us very proud even without Award.
