Prysmian and Enexis sign agreement to bring FlexPlug to the Dutch grid
Following its success in the Quick & Simple Substation innovation challenge, organized by Alliander, Enexis, and Stedin, FlexPlug is taking its next step toward real-world implementation.Last week, Dennis Marks, CEO of Prysmian Netherlands, and Rutger van der Leeuw, CEO of Enexis, signed an agreement to further advance the solution. This milestone marks the transition from an award-winning concept to a practical solution designed to help accelerate grid expansion and support the energy transition.
Concept to reality
What started as a design challenge to make substation connections faster and more ergonomic is now becoming reality. Following the signing of the agreement with Enexis, Prysmian is taking the next step in bringing FlexPlug from an innovative concept to a practical solution for the field.
By moving a significant part of the assembly process from the trench to the factory, FlexPlug helps simplify on-site installation. The combination of flexible cables and plug-and-play connections reduces complexity in the field, supporting a more efficient and streamlined installation process.
