MV E-LINE

OVERVIEW

Medium Voltage Cables with a Sustainable Core

MV E-LINE is Prysmian’s innovative portfolio of medium voltage cables designed with sustainability at heart. By integrating recycled materials and eco-efficient design, E-LINE helps reduce environmental impact while delivering reliable performance for energy networks, infrastructures, and industrial applications.

Cable innovations

  • 10% recycled aluminium core
  • 100% recyclable P-Laser insulation
  • 100% recycled copper wire screen
  • 98% recycled PE outer sheath

P-Laser insulation

Prysmian offers the first fully recyclable and low-impact MV-cable insulation in the world

P-Laser is a fully eco-friendly insulation, manufactured using thermoplastic materials. It’s a recyclable solution that contributes to our customers’ sustainability work and drives added value for their business.

The production process of this Medium Voltage Cable utilises ‘zero-gas’ technology, reducing CO2 emissions by around 1 tonne/km.

Degassing is no longer required and its use of thermoplastics means a more efficient, fully integrated production process from start to finish.

PROJECT

50 km of MV E-LINE Delivered for Schiphol’s Sustainable Future

Schiphol Airport is working toward becoming waste-free and emission-free by 2030. As part of this ambition, major maintenance on the Zwanenburgbaan runway includes a full upgrade of its grid connections — powered by 50 km of Prysmian’s MV E-LINE cables, delivered in partnership with BAM Energie & Water.

These medium voltage cables are not only high-performance and durable, but also made with recycled materials, supporting Schiphol’s sustainability goals. To further reduce emissions, the cables were transported using electric heavy-duty vehicles, marking a milestone in emissions-free logistics.

SUSTAINABLE LOGISTICS

Minimizing footprint at every step

MV E-LINE doesn’t just perform sustainably — it’s designed to minimize environmental impact across its entire lifecycle. For the BAM x Schiphol project, Prysmian delivered 50 km of MV E-LINE cables using electric heavy transport, replacing diesel with a cleaner alternative. This switch saved at least 881 kg of CO₂ emissions across 10 deliveries, even with loads between 20 and 25 tons.
