Innovations are the cornerstone of Prysmian’s business strategy. Our focus on improvement and innovation is customer driven. The key to being customer driven is to understand the end use of our products and to think about innovation that can benefit the customer. Our HQ in Delft, as a center of knowledge and expertise, is equipped with seven quality control laboratories and one HV research laboratory (HRL). This allows us to be a step ahead with our customers' needs, continuously working on development and testing of HV cable designs and network components. Prysmian offers a complete testing service, including engineering, jointing work for the cable accessories and arrange third party witnessing and test reports if required. With the HRL, Prysmian also offers supervision and coordination of complex testing and qualification projects, even where multiple test locations need to be involved.

Qualified 4000 mm2 AlMil conductor is just one of the successful projects for Prysmian Netherlands.

P-laser

P-Laser is the first 100% recyclable, eco-sustainable, high-performance cable technology based on HPTE (High Performance Thermoplastic Elastomer) insulation. With a solid history in medium-voltage application, this fully qualified high-performance insulation system has evolved over the years in a comprehensive high-voltage development program of rigorous testing and extensive trials. P-Laser is suited for the highest voltage levels. It is delivering enhanced thermal performance and high intrinsic reliability that enable more flexible and sustainable solutions, such as installation with smaller trench widths. Being fully recyclable, and with increased productivity and 30% lower CO2 emissions in production, P-laser has much higher environmental credentials compared to more conventional technologies.

Alesea

Alesea is a virtual business assistant that helps manage cable inventory. It is designed to transform cable drums into intelligent assets that support customers in improving their efficiency in operations and inventory management. Alesea provides real-time inventory visibility, actionable notifications, and autonomously updated information about the assets’ location, status, history, usage, and handling conditions. The solution relies on a sensored tracking device that includes a GPS tracker, environmental sensors, motion detectors, and mobile communications.

The collected information is presented on an intuitive cloud-based platform that provides insights on how to improve the efficiency of operations. Alesea also offers custom value-adding consulting services to uncap customer’s potential and boost quality and performance in terms of efficiency and sustainability.

MONITORING SYSTEM

Pry-Cam

Pry-Cam revolutionary technology allows online, accurate and reliable PD measurement, diagnosis and defect localization. It offers the way to empower your business by effectively managing your data. Traditional technologies for PD testing require to switch off the electrical components, to install special sensors on the test equipment and then to perform measurements. All traditional procedures require the equipment under test to be idle for several hours during measurements. On the contrary, Pry-Cam innovative technology allows to perform "wireless" measurements, without direct connection to the parts under test, even operating at a distance. Therefore, it is now possible to take online measurements without to disconnect. Thanks to the patented wireless sensor for PD, Pry-Cam allows to acquire in few minutes the whole PD pulse pattern, resulting in the best accuracy for field PD measurements. Measured data is safely sorted and protected on the Pry-Cam cloud, allowing you to check the health of your asset from wherever you are, perform remote diagnosis and localization.
