HPTE
P-laser cables use HPTE (High Performance Thermoplastic Elastomer) insulation. It is PP based, characterized by a high flexibility, good thermo-mechanical properties, and excellent electrical behavior.
The P-Laser insulation has a higher resistance towards developing water trees, cavities, and crystallization compared to XLPE . And even at very low temperatures, down to -25ºC, the HPTE material does have a breakage extension of 300%.
HPTE thermoplastics also offers several other advantages:
- Firstly: production is cleaner as a chemical process, the so-called crosslinking, is omitted.
- Secondly: P-Laser cables per mm of insulation are electrically stronger.
- Lastly: HPTE insulation is 100% recyclable after use.
